About me

About me

I am a video game sound designer based in the UK. I started working as a profesional sound designer in October 2022. Since then, I’ve gained experience in a wide variety of games ranging from indie games to AAA games.

Something I always strive for in my sound design is to infuse each project with a unique character. (And add a personal touch whenever possible). I’ve worked across a variety of genres and sound types, but my true strength and passion lie in crafting massive, over the top sounds – think explosions, mech bosses, large-scale destruction, cinematics and guns. I achieve this by capturing unusual recordings that also resonate with me personally or by using Serum.

I consistently deliver high-quality audio on time and aligned with the project’s creative vision, ensuring that even the smallest details are polished. And other than my usual responsibilities I try to look for ways to help my colleagues in any way possible and to see if I can help improve broader workflows in the company. One of the ways is to record new sounds which I add to the company’s internal library (all named with UCS) for my colleagues to use in their projects.

One of my proudest achievements is usually when I record weird source material for assets in game. For example, I recorded a Beyblade battle with contact mics and processed them with Argotlunar to make sounds for a mech boss. Or recording a colleague gargling and using it for an alien creature.

I am also an avid techno producer, releasing on labels regularly under the alias Bastian Horro.
